Microsoft is going to end its support for Windows XP from April 8th and in case you are addicted to it and don’t want to let go of it, then let us tell you how to secure your computer with this obsolete operating system as the vulnerabilities in this aging computer OS are vast, making it easier for hacker to steal your data
Switch to Chrome or Firefox

If you were using Internet Explorer (IE) for surfing internet then you should let go of it as soon as possible because IE 8 was the last version that has support for XP but it has stopped receiving security updates so you should switch to Google Chrome as it plans to support Windows XP users as long as April of 2015. Firefox on the other hand has announced no such plans of stopping support for XP users. SO change your browser immediately if you want to carry on with Windows XP.

Update Microsoft Office

Office 2003 is also going to lose its support from Microsoft on April 8th so you should also want to update your Microsoft may be to a new version i.e. Office 2007 which can work with Windows XP and can help you work with lesser threat of comprising your data.

Delete vulnerable software

You must get rid of all those software and add-ons from your browser that have been left without any support from their parent companies. First in list must be Java browser plug-in because an outdated java browser makes it piece of cake for any hacker to break into your computer. There are several add-ons that get updates on their own but there are many that don’t even bother that so you must either get an updated version or must let go of them.

Get off the internet

In case you want to use Windows XP for some customized software or Hardware that has no compatibility with modern versions of Windows, then you must get off the internet as soon as possible and continue using your computer to meet your customized utilities by remaining offline.

Don’t use Administrator Account

Try to use User accounts so that least of your data gets in hands of hackers once they are able to break into your computer. Administrator accounts protected by some strong password will ensure that the cyber maniacs don’t harm your data more than they wanted and so that you can continue using your favorite computer operating system without much pain.
